Zandile pursued her studies in Business Management (Marketing and Communication) and advanced to the People Management Programme at Wits Business School and Management Development Programmes through USB-ED (University of Stellenbosch-Executive Development) as she progressed in her broadcasting career.
Zandile's media career started in the newsroom where she worked her way up from being Office Manager, Writer in the newsroom and Brand Manager for ILanga newspaper. She then joined the world of radio as Content Producer for the afternoon slot and moved to breakfast the following year. After 3 years as Content Producer, she was appointed Head of Programmes and still heads this Unit to date. She has won awards as Producer, Programmes Manager and for many programmes under her champion.
As she progressed and grew in her career, she became a mother of 3 girls. Being a mother is a role she holds dear, it has influenced her outlook both personally and professionally.
She has seen it prudent in the past couple of years to involve herself in community and development programmes, with focus on young girls. She then started a project called Mind 4 Girls, where she imparts knowledge and skills, through her network, for young girls and students. This project has been supported by captains of industry and other women professionals, including corporates.
Zandile has sat in numerous structures of development and path finding in the arts and creative industry. She is board member of the KwaZulu Natal United Music Association. She has also been a judge at the South African Music Awards for a number of years. He role in media and the arts spreads beyond her 08:00-16:00 professional duties. She also offers her time and knowledge in mentoring young people interested in being in the music field.
