KZN Music Industry Forums
-
Music industry sub-sector focused forums are held quarterly to provide regular networking opportunities with professionals from specific sub-sectors of the music industry (e.g. Music Producers Forum) so they can share knowledge, discuss challenges, and determine possible solutions that will shape and grow their respective sub-sector.
-
The music industry forums are tailored to bring KUMISA closer to its members and vice versa. Among these forums are
-
Music Producers Forum,
-
Production, Events & Venues Forum,
-
Legends Forum, and
-
Copyright, Performance & Distribution Forum
-
Each of the above-mentioned forums is segmented differently, but they all have the common objective of enabling KUMISA's members to meet and connect with relevant stakeholders, including major industry, government, and municipal representatives.
-
The purpose of facilitating music industry forums that are chaired independently by KUMISA members per forum is to promote networking, identify micro and macroeconomic factors impacting each industry segment of the overall music sector ecosystem from a legislative, economic, and social perspective with the intention to share ideas that can assist in transforming their sector.
In addition, the resolutions taken at the KUMISA Music Industry Forums are later presented at the KUMISA Music Brunch, which is designed to bring together music industry leaders from across the value chain and decision makers from the commerce, content, legislative, and creative communities across South Africa to discuss the future of music and to build lasting relationships.
